Close to five decades after Rajesh Khanna and Nanda’s songless thriller Ittefaq hooked cinegoers, Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha are all set to repeat its magic.Akshaye Khanna also plays a pivotal role in the remake, directed by Abhay Chopra. The trailer of the movie will be launched today .
The original, produced by BR Chopra and helmed by Yash Chopra, revolved around two murders, two suspects and two contradictory versions of the crime. The 100-minute suspense thriller kept the audience glued to their seats till the end, and was a runaway hit.
Abhay , who is making his directorial debut by retelling his grand-uncle’s film, has retained the flavour, thrill and suspense of the 1969 original.However, he has included a twist in the climax since the suspense of the original has already been revealed.
