After winning the national award for Kahaani, Sujoy Ghosh is all set to present Badla, starring Taapsee Pannu and Mr Bachchan. With Bollywood producing just a handful of movies in the crime thriller genre, the audiences are certainly in for a treat especially with a powerful star cast head-lining this film.
Known for his jaw dropping twists at the end in Kahaani, Sujoy Ghosh promises enough twists and turns at every mode, in Badla. The film has gripped the audience ever since the trailer release, followed by engaging dialogue promos.
The movie also marks the first-time collaboration between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan as the actor and producer. Keeping their amicable camaraderie in mind the makers released a promotional series titled – Badla Unplugged, a series of jesting conversations between the two Bollywood megastars available on the YouTube channel of Red Chillies Entertainment.
Most of Bollywood’s romantic films are shot in beautiful locations but Sujoy Ghosh’s thriller will probably serve to be one of the first few movies in the thriller genre which has been shot in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, lending it a sleek and a mysterious look at the same time. Further, major part of the film has been captured on live, real locations of Glasgow. While Glasgow and Scotland have given a perfect urban set up, few portions have also been shot at the highlands of Scotland, Inverness and Aviemore that add picturesque landscape and beauty to the film!
Badla revolves around the interaction between Naina, a successful businesswoman played by Taapsee Pannu and her high-profile lawyer portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan. The crime thriller documents a conversation giving sneak peeks into the backdrop leaving the audience guessing.
Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu with the support of Amrita Singh, Manav Kaul, and Tony Luke, Badla promises powerful performances.
BADLA is presented by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment, Co-produced by Gaurav Verma and produced by Gauri Khan, Sunir Kheterpal and Akshai Puri, the crime thriller is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles is slated to release on 8th March 2019.
